Dear Yuletide Author 2017

Hi! I’m so excited to see what you write for me! I’ve got some prompts, which I’ve listed below. If there’s a story you’ve been dying to write, though, then by all means go for it.
General likes: gen, friendships, found families, team as family, plot, character studies, humor, angst, banter, competence, magic, mythology, crossovers (as long as I’m familiar with the other fandom - see my ao3 account and my tumblr). I’m okay with relationships, but I’d prefer if they weren’t the main focus of the story.
General dislikes: explicit sex, rape/non con, A/B/O, mundane AU’s (i.e. coffee shop, high school), major character death (unless it’s canon, but even then I’m often in denial). Also, I’d rather not get a Christmas-themed fic.
Killjoys (any)
There are so many things I love about this show, including the world building, the themes of found family and identity and recovery, and Turin’s hair. Team Awesome Force is a delight, as are all of the secondary characters (Fancy’s arc in season 3 was incredible). Since it’s such a serialized show, most of my prompts are missing scene-type things, but if you want to go AU, feel free.
Some ideas:
Legion (any)
This is such a brilliant, trippy show, with incredible visuals and music. The found family in this show is wonderful, and I’m intrigued by everyone’s powers and the effects those powers have had on their lives. One thing: I do feel strongly that David’s mental illness was not caused solely by his powers or by the presence of the Shadow King in his mind, so if you’re going to write a post-season 1 fic featuring him, I’d appreciate it if his schizophrenia wasn’t magically cured.
Some ideas:
The Strange Case of Starship Iris (Violet, Arkady)
I can’t wait for the hiatus to be over so we can find out what’s going to happen to the crew of the Rumor! All the characters are great, but I especially love Violet and Arkady and the trust issues between them. I also enjoy their mutual crushes on each other, and Arkady’s insecurity as a street-smart person next to Violet’s book-smarts.

- Michelle Lovretta said in an interview that both Fancy and Turin cared about the RAC as an institution quite a bit, and are upset that it was compromised. How are they dealing with losing it, and how has that loss affected their self-image?
- How did Fancy, a notorious loner and designated asshole, become the leader of the cleansed?
- Lucy has clearly created some new emergency protocols since the last time Johnny got stabbed. What are some others, and what situations did the crew get in that she decided they were necessary?
- Zeph backstory! Where is she from, how did she become a Killjoy, etc?
- What’s going to happen with Dutch and Aneela in the green?
- Where the heck was Bellus this season?

- More backstory for the Loudermilks. Does Cary think of himself as Native American? Does Kerry feel any affection towards their parents?
- Oliver’s life in his ice cube, or his life with Melanie before he got lost in the astral plane.
- Ptonomy discovering and exploring his power.
- Who kidnapped David at the end of season 1, and what’s going to happen to him?

- At one point in episode 2, Sana says “Arkady senses __" twice in a row. Apparently, this isn’t meant to imply that Arkady has psychic powers, but it would be really cool if she did. So, AU where she has powers, and the reason why she deserted from the military was that she didn’t like how it was using them. Up to you whether or not any of the others have powers, and also how much having a curious biologist on board freaks Arkady out.
- Arkady’s backstory
- More of Arkady talking Violet through something dangerous over the comms. Or, flip it and have Violet talk Arkady through something.
