Hi! Happy Yuletide! I’m so excited to see what you write for me. I’ve done my best to give you some ideas, but of course if there’s something you’ve been dying to write, absolutely go for it!
General likes: gen, friendships, found families, team as family, plot, character studies, humor, angst, banter, competence, magic, mythology, crossovers (as long as I’m familiar with the other fandom - see my ao3 account and my tumblr). I’m okay with relationships, but I prefer a fade to black before anything gets explicit
General dislikes: explicit sex, rape/non con, A/B/O, incest, mundane AU’s (i.e. coffee shop, high school), major character death. Also, I’d rather not get a Christmas-themed fic.
Killjoys (any)
Oh boy, we got SUCH a great season this year. Good balance among the main characters, some of Delle Seyah's best lines, and, of course, an incredible cliffhanger. I really love the theme of family in this show - the Jaqobis brothers, the Dutch/Johnny partnership, the coparenting of Jaq, Turin and his son Weej. I also enjoy how the show plays with identity- who Dutch is in relation to Aneela, who Jaq is and what he can do, who the Cleansed are after what they’ve done.
Prompts:
-Jaq teaming up with Lucy and Aneela to save everyone from the Lady’s amnesia world
-Mythology in the Killjoys universe. Either Scarback mythology, or a fusion with a real world Greek/Norse/Egyptian/etc. myth (mostly because I couldn’t stop thinking about Orpheus and Eurydice when Johnny was leaving not!Pawter in the Green)
-D’avin, Delle Seyah, and Aneela parenting Jaq
-Johnny and Fancy having a conversation about what it means to be Cleansed
The Strange Case of Starship Iris (Violet, Arkady)
I love the whole crew of the Rumor, but Violet and Arkady are my favorites, ever since the first episode where Arkady talked Violet through resetting her ship (echoed in episode 5, much to my delight). I enjoy the contrast of Arkady’s street smarts with Violet’s book smarts, especially when Arkady can surprise Violet with book smarts of her own. If you're unfamiliar with this podcast, you can listen to the season so far here and see transcripts for the first 7 episodes here.
Prompts:
-The crew of the Rumor is captured by the IGR. Up to you whether or not it’s all part of the plan
-At one point in episode 2, Sana says “Arkady senses __" twice in a row. Apparently, this isn’t meant to imply that Arkady has psychic powers, but it would be really cool if she did. So, AU where she has powers, and is probably freaked out by having a curious biologist on board
-Violet talking Arkady through something on the comms
-Soulmate goose of enforcement

I’m almost certain we didn’t match on this, but it’s an excellent short story (word count <7k) from Lightspeed Magazine. You can find it here. The story has some truly incredible worldbuilding, as well as interesting characters and a strong buddy cop vibe. Also, if it helps, I picture Lupita Nyong’o as Jace and Will Yun Lee as Culin.
Prompts:
-What’s the next case that Jace comes to Culin for help with?
-Background on Culin’s illness and the history of contages
-Culin gets hurt or more sick on a case, and Jace has to take him to an Upcity hospital
-What could make Culin go to Jace for help?
University of Laughs (any)
I doubt we matched on this either, but it’s a hilarious movie based on a 2-man play, in which a Japanese comedic writer is trying to convince a government censor to approve his play for production. Sakisaka, the censor, has some incredible character growth over the course of it, and the playwright Tsubaki has two brave and heartbreaking confessions near the end that make me cry every time I watch. I ship them hard, but mostly in the sense of wanting them to live long lives together making each other laugh as often as possible. If by any chance you understand either Japanese or Arabic, the movie is up on youtube with Arabic subtitles. It’s also possible to download the subtitles separately in English.

-Epistolary fic: Tsubaki continuing to write new plays while he’s in the army, and sending them to Sakisaka for critique
-Tsubaki and Sakisaka starting a new comedy troupe once Tsubaki returns from the war
